Every email passes through spam filters, which look closely at every link in it. Here is what to keep in mind.
Link guidelines
- Links must relate directly to the content of your email.
- Each link must lead to one page. Links which send people to different pages depending on the click are not allowed.
- Check the domain of your links is not on a blacklist.
- Ideally, links use the same domain as your sender address. Sending from hello@yoursleepbusiness.com? Your links work best on yoursleepbusiness.com.
Sharing links from someone else? Checking they are safe is your responsibility. The more widely a link is shared, the more exposed it becomes. Emails with links seen as dangerous may be blocked to protect deliverability. Providers may flag a link because its domain was misused by spammers.

Avoid shortened links
Shortened links hide where they lead, which hurts deliverability. Use full links, so the destination is clear.
