How to connect your IONOS subdomain to SleepPRO™

Connect a domain

Here is how to connect a subdomain of a domain at IONOS, such as courses.yoursleepbusiness.com.

First add your subdomain in SleepPRO™, as described in step 1 of Integrating your subdomain with SleepPRO™. Each subdomain gets its own CNAME records.

First CNAME record

  1. Open the DNS zone of your domain in IONOS and click Add a record.
  2. Choose CNAME.
  3. Enter your subdomain, such as courses, in Hostname.
  4. Enter the first value from SleepPRO™, ending in cloudfront.net, with the full stop at the end, in Points to.
  5. Click Save.
A CNAME record with this name already there? Edit its value instead.

Second CNAME record

  1. Click Add a record and choose CNAME.
  2. In Hostname, enter the code from SleepPRO™ which comes before your domain, starting with an underscore and ending with your subdomain.
  3. In Points to, enter the second value from SleepPRO™, ending in acm-validations.aws.
  4. Click Save.

Check your records

Go to dnschecker.org and enter the full name of each record, including your domain. You should see your value with a green tick. If not, review your DNS settings.

DNS changes take 24 to 48 hours to spread fully.
If IONOS will not save a record because of a conflict, usually with the first CNAME, ask IONOS support whether the existing record is needed or can be removed.
Still stuck? We are here for you.

SleepPRO™ support is available 24/7 and usually replies within 12 hours, often sooner.
